Tuesday November 20-Tuesday November 27, 2012
We had a wonderful week long trip back home to North
Carolina. Surprisingly Jackie had not been to NC since they moved in March 2011
when Ryan had just been born. Her family had visited together in Wisconsin in
the summer of 2011, her Mom Dad and Andy came to Seattle for Thanksgiving 2011
& Chrissi and Pat recently visited in August 2012.
Tuesday Mom picked us up in Greensboro. We immediately
drove up to Mount Airy to have lunch with Dad at Snappy’s lunch or Andy
Griffith’s fame but more importantly the pork chop sandwich fame. Back at home
in King, Dad showed us the work we’d been doing by the pond. It was such great
weather in the low 60s and SUNNY!
We went for a hike in the woods. The Pacific Northwest
may be beautiful, but North Carolina is just as beautiful in its own way.
We caught Andy relieving himself since we were pretty far
from the house.
Andy had a wardrobe malfunction climbing over a log.
The path is not that discernible anymore, but we finally
found the other bridge.
Man talk, quality father/son-in-law bonding time.
Wednesday the Shugarts came up to King for Thanksgiving. Ryan
was a little timid at first, but after Jackie went for a run with Chrissi Ryan finally
said Jackie. It didn’t take long afterwards playing outside before Ryan gave
Jackie and Joe hugs and began sitting in Jackie’s lap.
Liam loves to wrestle, but not have his picture taken. I
was able to catch him in between playing with his new big boy Lego sets and
jumping on his Uncle Joe.
We got ready for a hike at Hanging Rock State Park.
Family hike to Tory’s Den.
Not much water flowing at the normally 40’ Tory Falls waterfall.
Joe climbed up to the top.
Looking down at the family from on top of the cave.
Andy found himself a walking stick.
Shugarts inside Tory’s Den, a cave that received its name
from being a location the British Tory Loyalists hid from the Americans during
the Revolutionary War.
I caught a photo of Liam with the big leaf he found.
More boy time outside.
Liam loves to play chase.

What Jackie’s in the kitchen helping?!? This can’t be
good.
Family Photo time.
Friday we went down to Charlotte
to see Starr, Nikki & Daniel and had some Showmars. After that we drove
over to Raleigh. We visited with Brandon, Elizabeth & their son Noah. When
Wrights arrived in Raleigh we went to Natty Green’s with Jason, Emily, Matt,
Sunny & Tony.
Saturday morning was cold in the
40s but the wind made it very uncomfortable, but we made the most of it.
The fire pit was a lifesaver.
Marinated chicken for tailgate.
There’s the Original “Joe” and the hotter version “You Hurt My Butt Joe”
Nicole & Joe.

Not much room on the grill.
Go Wolfpack!
Carter-Finley Stadium cheering for the seniors before
their last game against Boston College.
Senior Night.
David Amerson CB.
Mike Glennon QB.
The girls were the buffer between the boys and the
drunkards behind us.
Sure glad we got to see a win against Boston College.
After biscuits and gravy for breakfast at the Wrights we
went to church. We went to lunch at Shaba Shabu with Wrights & Potters.
Sunday night we made it to Clemmons before the boys went
to bed. Ryan had Joe reading to him.
We
watched the disappointing performance of the Packers against the Giants on
Sunday Night Football.
Monday
morning Ryan is a cool dude rocking the sunglasses while rocking
his puzzle.
Monday Liam showed me his awesome jeep.
Best buds.
Liam doesn’t like the paparazzi following him around.
Crazy driver.
Such boys.
Liam getting spun around by Uncle Joe.
Ryan trying out T-ball. He likes to use the bat
backwards.
Now Liam is getting spun by his feet but safety first
with his helmet on.
Tuesday Liam showed me how to put together his Thomas the
train puzzle.
