Brooklyn's New Big Girl Bedroom

With baby #2 coming, we needed to move Brooklyn up to our top floor to a spare bedroom so that her little brother could be on the same floor as mom and dad (once he's moved out of the bassinet in our room into his own crib initially). We decided to make the move in early March so that Brooklyn would not associate the move to the new room with being kicked out with the new baby. Jackie eased her into the transitio several steps. After Christmas, she moved several of her toys upstairs to make the upper floor a more inviting place to play and not just where she goes when Mom does laundry. They started spending more time up there playing. Jackie then in February started to have her take naps in the pack and play her new bedroom. Once we purchased a new second crib for our little boy as well as a new dresser/changing for Brooklyn's new room, we were ready to make the move. We decided to make the move early March so she had a few weeks to get comfortable before we went to Croatia for 2 weeks.

The same green accent wall paint from her nursery is also in the new room on the closet doors and built in bookshelves.
Now that Jackie has finally hung up her wooden letter name and You Are My Sunshine paintings, here is a quick view of the space:

We finally can fit a chair in the room which is nice for reading books before bed and naps. Before long it will be time to convert her crib into a toddler bed! But one step at a time. Let's get her used to having a little brother around before she's able to escape from her bed during all hours of the night on a floor above us.
