Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature its spring in Mill Creek. The joys of living in the convergence zone...

Lunch with Elenbaas

Lunch with Elenbaas
Saturday March 16, 2013

Today we invited the Elenbaas family over for lunch & to have our dogs meet. We’ve become good friends with them through our small group. Joe gets along well with their junior high aged kids from the times he’s volunteered at Gold Creek Community Church helping our during service and other events. This lunch gathering was kind of a trial run for dog sitting for each other. Joe made pork sandwiches, salsa and hand-cut fries.
Their dog Eli is the active one while other one tries to keep him from having fun. Once Eli discovered Chance’s basket of toys, he acted as though he was in heaven. According to Sarah later that night “Eli is sitting here a little disenchanted with his ball...and wants to know ‘why can't he have a toy bin?’ :)” Too cute.

Bavarian Leavenworth & Lake Wenatchee

Bavarian Leavenworth & Lake Wenatchee
Saturday March 9, 2013

For my 30th birthday we drove 2 hours to the Bavarian Alpine mountain town of Leavenworth, WA.
We walked around the town a little bit.

We grabbed a beer, sausage & great mustards at Munchen Haus.
Next we went to Icicle Brewing Company to try a beer sampler. The wood shutters were beautiful. The outdoor patio was great on such a beautiful sunny day.

We walked down to Waterfront Park along the Wenatchee River.

The water was so crystal clear from being fed from the mountain snow.

This dog was in love with fetching this large stick.

The water was so clear you could see remnants of the rivers past life for logging transport.

Joe didn’t quite wear the right shoes for the mountains.
Icicle Ridge

After a walk back into town, we stopped at Leavenworth Sausage Garden by cured for another beer and sausage.

We ‘acquired’ a new pilsner glass!
Before we left town we bought a cool new growler from Icicle Brewing Company.
We drove over to Lake Wenatchee State Park.

The water was so cold.
We had gorgeous weather for a great birthday. Thank you Lord for such a great present!
