Den Haag Chinese New Year

Saturday February 13, 2016

For Chinese New Year, we went up to Den Haag (The Hague) for some celebrations on Saturday. We took our visiting friend Issac from WA. We listened to the loud firecrackers go off outside the Stadhuis (City Hall). We had dim sum at Full Moon in Chinatown. The parade celebration happened to be right outside the entrance to the restaurant so it was perfect timing after lunch at 1pm. There was already a crowd so we needed our selfie stick to see everything well.

Jackie was getting cold on the windy bridge so we went into the center to get a bite to eat.
Afterwards we went to Vrijthof, the square with 2 churches where the parade ends. It was packed with partiers but was a lot more kid-friendly and cleanlier than Eindhoven.

Carnaval Eindhoven 2016

Saturday February 6, 2016

Wednesday for playgroup Brooklyn and Jackie wore their handmade (aka cheap) crayon costumes. Not the best photo of Brooklyn, but the best I took of her in her costume.
It looked much better Wednesday than on Saturday where it was over her puffy pink coat.
On Saturday we went to Eindhoven Centrum to watch the Lampegat Parade on Kerksestraat.
