This had to be the most beautiful weather we’ve had yet and we had to spend the day looking for a rental house. I think it got up to 70 degrees in Mill Creek. Although we weren’t picked to rent the first house we found in Bothell last weekend, I think we found a better place today. It doesn’t have a fenced in patio like the other Bothell duplex, but it has a nice grass yard where the cul-de-sac yards are fenced from the next neighborhood. It’s further north, which is better for Joe’s commute north. It’s about an hour drive, mostly interstate against traffic. The good news is there are other employees down there that carpool to Joe’s work. We are only 10 minutes from the park and ride I will go to pick-up the bus to downtown Seattle. My bus ride should be around 30-40 minutes. It’s also minutes away from Mill Creek Town Center, a happening place to shop and hang out. Hopefully all the credit and background checks go well and we have a good meeting with the owner of the house on Sunday. We’re just ready to have all the details settled and get the moving company enough notice to have the truck at the house May 23.
On our drive home up I-5, traffic was horrible. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival we went to last weekend was a huge draw on such a gorgeous day. The good thing about the slow moving traffic is I got to take pictures of the Cascade Mountains. This will be what Joe sees on his way to work on a clear day. This is the view of the mountains around Lake Stevens, Everett and Marysville.
It was such a beautiful day that Joe and I drove down to Bellingham Bay to walk some trails along the water. We walked the South Bay Trail which connects Fairhaven District to downtown Bellingham. The section we walked has a boardwalk over the water. Chance for some reason was terrified. It could have been all the people, but probably just being on the raised boardwalk dock over water. This would be a great place to watch the sunset. The San Juan Islands are in the distance with sailboats in Bellingham Bay. We sat on some benches up the hill where there are many condos overlooking the water.
I continued to Boulevard Park to see how much of downtown you could see from there. There were so many people out enjoying the beautiful day and Easter weekend. I can only imagine it will get nicer from now on.
