Volunteer Park Fireworks

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

With a big deadline at work and Joe out of town, I took Chance into the office with me for the day. She wasn’t too bad except for barking at basically anyone new who came into our desk space. After work we drove up to Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill to watch the fireworks with a safe enough distance so the sounds of the explosions wouldn’t bother Chance as much.
The conservatory is 100 years old.
Nice view of the Space Needle.
The sun begins to set.
Lights begin to come on.

The fireworks show didn’t begin until 10:15pm. Yeah that’s right, that’s how long light stays in the sky here. I could only see the highest fireworks appear above the tree line, but there were a group of people setting off their own fireworks in a field in the park.
