Leuven, Belgium

Saturday November 19, 2016

Leuven has been on our list of places to daytrip to for awhile. It's a 1.5 hour drive away and we get to avoid Antwerp and Brussels traffic on the way. Leuven is known for beer brewing. The Stella Artois brewery is located here. We drove past on our way into the city center. The headquarters for Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer is also located here.

For lunch, we went to Domus Cafe and Brewery. We enjoyed some beers with a decent meal.
Selfie outside Domus with Caleb (Thanks for the cute knit blue owl hat Nikki!)
Oude Markt, the longest bar in the world (well cafe after cafe next to one another all serving beverages from the bar)
Jackie intended to take us to the university library, but google maps steered us wrong and took us to the city library.
As we walked back to the parking garage, we hear music being played outside the Leuven Town Hall. Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet has come to town!

Caleb is definitely not sure what to make of this crazy Sinterklaas business
