This morning we drove to Bremerton to view a tandem kayak for sale on craigslist. We drove over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Glad they got that fixed ;)
The 6 or so year old yellow sea kayak was in pretty good condition. It was a good deal as well since it included 2 paddles, 2 paddle floats and 2 skirts.
We decided to go back to via the ferry from Bainbridge Island to make the most out of the trip.
We were hungry for lunch so we decided to stop in Poulsbo for Italian. This town is really cute. It’s known as “Little Norway.” Once we parked near Front Street, we passed by at least 3 small shops Joe wanted to check out after having lunch.
I had some amazing lobster ravioli while Joe ate delicious meatballs on the front porch of Mor Mor Bistro and Bar. Afterwards we stopped at Sluy’s Bakery which smelled amazing! We bought 2 pastries for later. We also stopped by a specialty beer shop which offered us a beer tasting while we stocked up on a few brews for a visit from some great friends later this week.
After this we drove down Bainbridge Island to catch a ferry back to Seattle from Winslow. Since it wasn’t busy we weren’t charged extra for being over 7’-6” in height with our new kayak on top.
Me and the Seattle skyline on the Bainbridge Island ferry.
The Mountain (Mt. Rainier) in full view.
You could even see Mt. Pilchuck, the closest tall mountain to our house we plan to hike soon.
Even Mt. Baker in the distance near Bellingham.
Space Needle.
Parasailer.
Closeup of downtown. My office is basically in the center of these pictures in the mid-rises before the skyscrapers.
Century Link Field (Seahawks and Sounders) and Safeco Field (Mariners).
When we got home we both were feeling like afternoon naps, but we were able to get the NCSU vs Liberty football game streaming live on ESPN3. We hooked up the laptop up to the TV. The game was ugly but at least we got the win. We really missed being at the game at the tree of power with the best tailgating crew there is. We sure missed you guys today!!! Love ya!
