Today we decided to do a short hike since it finally stopped raining. We drove down to Saint Edward State Park, a large piece of land on northeastern Lake Washington. It was once a Catholic seminary. The St. Edward Seminary was constructed in 1931. In the 1970s the seminary closed and the Diocese of Seattle sold the land to be used as a state park. The seminary has been listed on Washington State Heritage Register since 1997 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
We hiked down to Lake Washington shoreline.
Steady…
Chance getting a drink of water from Lake Washington.
Finally a clearing near the lakeside.
I love the old forest growth. The trails were made by the seminarians in the 1930s.
Snail.
Afterwards we found a good kayak put-in point in Kenmore at Log Boom Park.
